INVESTIGATING THE PHILOSOPHICAL FOUNDATION OF AN ESP COURSEBOOK ENGLISH FOR ACCOUNTING

Textbooks play an essential role in the teaching of ESP (English for Specific Purposes), especially EFL as a Foreign Language) settings. Finding out philosophical foundation commercial textbook can be basis whether or not that is suitable particular learning context. Hence, this study aims to describe and analyze English Purpose (ESP) coursebook entitled ‘English Accounting’ published by Oxford University Press, reveal inferred intent book. This employs qualitative design with content-analysis approach, which data are described verbally. The making was done describing analyzing using Littlejohn’s adapted model (2011) consisting book, contents, inference. findings show foundations eclectic, book principles progressivism, critical pedagogy, reconstructivism. Regarding intent, written order facilitate learners use spoken communication various accounting business
